Thanks, I found it and am trying to give it a go using the Samba-PDC 
LDAP howto from http://www.unav.es/cti/ldap-smb-TNG-howto.html

I have been using NIS, but with computer labs coming on line with Win2k 
and XP, I need a common login procedure.  Hopefully OpenLDAP/Samba will 
do the trick.

I may have more questions, so thanks in advance to the list gurus.
