I haven't had any issues with mdb since 2.4.35+patches to make it like 
2.4.36

Not only do I use it on my production servers, but so do any of our clients 
using ZCS8.0.4 or later.  I sleep just fine.  Backup policy hasn't changed 
(nightly).
