Re: Access via Perl w/GSSAPI and SASL 2

I needed something like this earlier. I ended up modifying PerLDAP ( http://perldap.org/ ) to compile against OpenLDAP and to add some of the OpenLDAP only API eg. ldap_initialize() . At least at the time PerLDAP did not support those. The project is at http://ldapperl.sf.net/

The project is basically a thin PERL embed layer ( as thin as possible ) to wrap the OpenLDAP calls, as close as possible in the PERL language.

I think its a good idea for OpenLDAP to have at least one of those.

I've been using it in production for a while now, no issues, but I did not add the OpenLDAP specific API functions that I did not need. I was on a tight schedule. Currently it's all in CVS.

There maybe something else out there, I don't know. But if you want to give it a go, feel free to drop me a line.

Does anyone know of any perl modules for doing GSSAPI binds to an openldap server with SASL V2? I found the Authen-SASL-Cyrus perl module, but it only works with Cyrus V1.
