Re: OpenLDAP <-> Advanced Directory Syncs

All;
My appologies if I posted an off-topic question. I'm new to this list, and wasn't aware.

However, I don't feel that this question was off-topic.
I'm NOT trying to admin the ADS, and make it talk to LDAP. I AM trying to set up LDAP to extract vital information from the ADS. I doubt that any M$ list is going to assist with that. Which is why I came here.

Just as a data point: Sun One 5.2 (Beta) now has the ability to do this. We're not sure to what extent. I need to show that ability within OpenLDAP if I'm to sell this solution to management.

Thus, my original question stands: Is there a way, within OpenLDAP to extract info from an ADS?

Thank you. I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Best Regards

Active Directory hosted replication is off-topic for this list. I would
suggest you look in MSDN, some other Microsoft source, or a Samba list to
answer your question.

All;

With the basic now figured out and working, it's on to the next
challenge. That is: Keeping the new LDAP server in sync with the
Windows server. (and the windows server is the master around here).

I can get user ID's via samba/winbind. But I can't get the rest of the
info (Including uid numbers, phone numbers, etc). Is there currently a
method out there of getting this info from a Windows (AD) server?

Thank you again for any assistance!
