replication on 2.1.5

I thought I was ready to move to 2.1.5, but I have an error in replication.

The master shows:

entryCSN: 2002100412:17:48Z#0x0001#0#0000

in the midst of the changes.  The replication event is rejected with
"constraint violation".   Looking at the chatter of slurpd on the master, I see
this:

The replication dn is in a group with write access to *.

Is that not good enough in 2.1.5?

I guess, in other words, what have I done wrong?
