but, really it's odd.

then when do we use subtype?

in the core.schema with openldap, 'cn' attribute is a subtype of 'name' attribute. 

then, search results with name 'vanora' have cn matched entry.

this is acceptable. but 'o'(organization name) attribute also is a subtype of 'name' attribute.

in my thought, 'o' should not be subtype of 'name' attribute. doesn't it?

This is correct because mainid is a subtype of uid and searches for an 
attribute also consider its subtypes.
