If I want to add telephone numbers to my LDAP database using the
"international form", how do I add extensions?

For example, my work telephone number (in the United States) is
(949) 458-1911 extension 3. In "international form" would my telephone
number be ... or something else?

+1 949 458 1911 ext. 3

According to E.123 this form should be used to "show an extension number of a PABX without direct in-dialling", i.e. the digits after "ext." are not to be dialed.

If your PABX supports direct in-dialling I suggest you write the number as
	+1 949 458 1911 3
