(Answer) (Category) OpenLDAP Faq-O-Matic : (Category) OpenLDAP Software FAQ : (Category) Configuration : (Category) SLAPD Configuration : (Category) Overlays : (Answer) Compare on dynamic groups: the "dyngroup" overlay (OpenLDAP 2.2)
The dyngroup overlay provides dynamic group expansion to the underlying database.

Compare operations resulting in "FALSE" or "UNDEFINED" that apply to entries with a specified objectClass are retried by expanding specified LDAP URI-valued attributes into searches with the attribute-value assertion used as filter.

More general dynamic group expansion capabilities are provided by the dynlist overlay (OpenLDAP 2.3).

See also the dynlist and the expandURL overlays.
