I have ldap source installation. It was working till yesterday and
suddenly it is refusing to bind. It starts though. The ldap info of my
installation is as follows:

version: openldap-2.2.26
Compiled with sasl
version: cyrus-sasl-2.1.20
Using bdb as backend
version: db-4.3.27

Note that users of BDB 4.3 have reported problems, especially around 4.3.27. If you are going to use 4.3, I'd suggest getting their latest version.

I will also note that it appears you are missing a DB_CONFIG file, which is an essential part of configuring and using OpenLDAP with the BDB backend.
