guids

I am trying to figure out if OpenLDAP supports generation of a guid for
objects. We have a portal we are trying to implement, and it requires a
guid. The issue is we use Active Directory but we are adding 14000 more
users and don't wanna give MS 450k for the licenses.

I am trying to get OpenLDAP in the door, but if I can't do it, I may
have to buy Sun ONE DS..

Help?

Or any way you can think of that I can create guids uniquely without
manual intervention.
