yah....it seems when i run with
/opt/openldap/current/libexec/slapd -u ldap -g ldap -d 296 -h " ldaps:///" -f /etc/depot/openldap/openldap/slapd.conf

then it'll work

if i do 
/opt/openldap/current/libexec/slapd -u ldap -g ldap -d 296 -f /etc/depot/openldap/openldap/slapd.conf

then it wont...


although i had the uri statement in the ldap.conf ..yet doesnt seem to want to read it..

i tried putting a uri statement on the slapd.conf but it says unknown uri directive...



but at least its getting closer for it to work...
