As long as you aren't changing your slapd.conf indexing options, new data that gets entered into the systems via modify and add commands will automatically have their data indexed. The only time you have to run slapindex is when you change the indexing in slapd.conf, either by adding new attributes to index, or by changing the indexing options on existing attributes.
