Is ldap concurrence?

We are using shell backends in OpenLdap2-2.1.12-50.
We have backend-perl that makes search and other backend that makes add 
operation, e.g:

database               shell
suffix                    "ou=search"
add                       SampleLDAP

database               shelll
suffix                    "ou=add"
search                  SampleLDAP

We want execute search and add operations at the same time (concurrently). 
Is it possible? Does Backend-shell support threads?

We view that the second backend-shell ('search') call waits for the first 
call ends('add').

Any idea?
