select failed (89): Operation not applicable

Hi all,

I have upgraded to openldap 2.1.16 for a week but I find that the new
version terminate automatically. When I turn on the Debug level to -1
and try to capture what happens. The log shows on below:

Mar 29 12:06:58 shkldapm01 slapd[28638]: daemon: select failed (89):
Operation not applicable
Mar 29 12:06:58 shkldapm01 slapd[28638]: <= test_filter 6
Mar 29 12:06:58 shkldapm01 slapd[28638]: daemon: abnormal condition,
shutdown initiated.

Can any one suggest what is the meaning of select failed (89): Operation
not applicable and why it happens ?? Is it caused by OS or LDAP or BDB
??

My LDAP is using bdb-back 4.1.25 and using Solaris 2.7.
