I'm also getting:
 pam_ldap: ldap_search_s No such object
in my /var/log/secure

I'm thinking there MIGHT be an issue where nss_ldap and pam_ldap need to 
know to use simple auth instead of SASL auth... is there a way to set 
this with ldap.conf or something? I didn't see an applicable option in 
the man file.
