Client not getting messages from the server

Hi All,
I am using openldap 2.0.23 package. My server and client are running on
Linux.
Database is berkeley db.
Client is using asynchronous apis for getting information from the LDAP
server.
I have used ldap_get_option for obtaining socket descriptor for ldap connection.
I am
doing a select operation on this socket for asynchronously receiving ldap
results. But
unblocking on this socket is puzzling me a lot. Many a times LDAP server calls
ldap_write,
but the socket at client doesn't unblock. Can someone suggest why this can
happen.

More twist to it, when I kill the server, all the pending reponses come to the
client at once.
Followed by error indication in ldap_parse_result, where the client exists.

Can someone suggest some remedy, I am in real need.

Thanx in advance,
Shashi
