log files?

Hello ,

I'm using openldap 2.0.11 and I don't find log files,  where can I find
errors messages,
Is there messages only in the standard output?
If True, where can I find more details about messages that I can read in
the standard output ?
(like "ldap_add_s: Object class violation"  by example)
