I encountered the same problem couple of times, may be more than 2/3 times.
I exported the complete schema to ldif file and searched the required node. It
was not in ldif file.

All I did stop server and then start, that's it. In worst case export the
schema to ldif file. Stop server. delete all dbb file. Start all over again and
import the ldif file again. Ofcourse sounds very  CRAZY !!!!
