checking for corrupt db files . . .

does anyone have a method for checking the integrity of db files? something
like dbcc on sybase . . . i'd hate to be backing up corrupt files!

the db_stat utility from sleepycat seems to be telling me something, but i
don't have any corrupt files to try it with.

if db_stat is the way to go, does it work with db2 files?
