ldbm cat output back to the DB?

I did a ldbmcat and put the output in a file - edited the file and now
want to get it back. Can I just do a ldif2ldbm command?

Will it replace what is there in the DB now?

Is there a better way?   ( I have a couple of record I cannot delete,
because of some special caracter or something like that)
