I too must be an idiot because I have both Java and Javascript enabled but
the ldaptool will NOT prompt me to grant it authority to run.  The JVM
kills it because it hasn't been granted permission to run - at least the
security controls in Java sort of work in this case.  But the
bug/feature/misconfiguration on my part lies in the lack of being prompted
to enable this applet to run.  I know this is sort of off topic and I
apologize if anyone is getting sick of this thread but the tool looks
extremely useful, I'd like to use it, and at least some other users have
had the same sort of errors I'm seeing.

I haven't heard anything from the author yet - maybe its time I really
learned Javascript and Java....
