For those looking to discover the search base on a UofM derived LDAPv2
server try doing a base search on basedn cn=config. The response should be
for each database and the basedn serviced by it. hope this helps..

[greg@screamingslave]$ ldapsearch -s base -b'cn=config' 'objectclass=*'
cn=config
database=ldbm : o=rage.net
