Forgive me if this is in a FAQ, but is there any documentation on
implementing crypt passwords in OpenLDAP/Umich? I've built slapd with a
reference to -lcrypt in the makefile, but I'm just not sure if it worked.

How does one go about creating & storing the encrypted passwords in the
database? 

Also, what tools do people generally use to let their users change their
own passwords? 

I'll be happy to write a summary of the answers I get for a FAQ, etc.
