Given the we manage (or don't manage) interface changes, I considering switching from --version-info to --release scheme. My rationale for this is that our interfaces change frequently, often between patch levels. Also, libtool's versioning doesn't play well with the idea of having multiple independent updateable release branches. Of course, re-packagers can always use some other numbering scheme. Kurt
