HEADS UP: ldappasswd
ldappasswd(1) has been replaced. The slapd now provides an
experimental extended operation to set passwords. (This may
be augmented by an experimental bind control).
The use of a extended operation (or bind control) is designed
to move away from using modify to change passwords. Relying
on modify implies the password is stored in the directory.
This may not be true. In particular, password storage may be
managed by an external service (such as Cyrus SASL).
The current implementation only allows a user to change their
own password. This will likely change once we have put into
place additional access control features.
