It's likely not sending an appropriate search request to read
the desired operational values from the listed subschema
subentry.  Check the server logs for details.

It's most likely the SDK did not explicitly list desired attribute
types in the search request.  As schema is contained in operational
attributes, they should be provided if requested (per RFC 2251).
