Another comment: the effect of the "x-static" option in OpenLDAP's
slapo-dynlist(5) is obtained by using the manageDSAit control (RFC
3296), which prevents expansion of the dynamic members.  This mimics the
behavior of LDAP when accessing named reference objects.  I wonder what
approach is more LDAP'ish (overloading of manageDSAit is explicitly
considered in RFC 3296) and more favorable to generic clients.
