How to use LDAP authentication with Squid?|
|For simple LDAP authentication without group requirements there is a LDAP authentication module shipped with the Squid sources. The version from Squid-2.4.STABLE2 or later is recommended. See http://www.squid-cache.org/ for details.
|proxy_auth_ldap (see http://www.stroeder.com/proxy_auth_ldap.html) is a short Python script which can be used as proxy authenticator with the caching WWW-Proxy Squid. It aims to be stable and fast: Reconnecting after LDAP server dropped connection, two LDAP connections for separating searches and bind calls. Logging to syslog is done to make it easy to track down problems.|
Note that newer Squid releases have built-in LDAP support. So this is obsolete.
