You mean this?

cn=config  cn=config.ldif

Indeed, I do.

It seems pretty obvious to me that "ETCDIR/slapd.d/cn=config.ldif" is completely different from an arbitrary "config.ldif" residing in an unspecified directory mentioned in the slapd-config(5) example.
