slapd.conf access from /etc/group?

Hello everybody,
I want to set up a ldap server that contains the address contacts of a
group of users.
Our users are grouped with the /etc/group file of our NIS-Server.

I would like to know if read/write access of the ldap-database can be
limited to certain groups of users.

The "access to" clause of slapd.conf does not seem to provide enough
flexibility...
