Cannot run slapd until now.

I tried it but I cannot see any process as the followings:

brazil:/usr/local/etc/openldap:70>su rootdev -c
'/usr/local/libexec/slapd'
Password:
brazil:/usr/local/etc/openldap:71>ps
   PID TTY TIME CMD
 16281 pts/6 0:00 netscape
 15174 pts/6 0:00 tcsh
 16280 pts/6 4:48 netscape
brazil:/usr/local/etc/openldap:72>

What is problem?
