validity of client certificate via ldap

i have installed ldap_1.2.11  
                  
on mine machine  
                  
also having apache_1.3.12.openssl,modssl supoort 
                  
with platfor as redhat linux6.2 
                  
                  
mine query is 
                  
when i am connecting to site an authenticate part 
of the site verified with server and client certificate 
                  
and after verification the respected data of the  
priviledges page would be shown 
                  
now what i want 
when person query for an authenticate page of the  
site 
ldap should able to check whether 
                  
client certificate is valid in terms of date and other 
                 things 
                  
i really do not know how this would be possible 
                  
if you can help me in this
