SLAPDPASSWORD -c default parameter

Helo,

I was reading that slapdpassword us hash -c defualt parameter "%s"  but I 
rather preffer to use "$1$%.8s"  

Is there anyopcion to change this with out specifying -c values, I need this 
because pam_ldap changes passwords using passwd command.
