I'm not quite sure I see much of a use for it for me, but maybe you have
an inspiring idea...

Just to name a few things, we use OpenLDAP for mail delivery (about 2.5+ million queries a day to the directory servers occur for mail delivery), access permissions to web sites (http://webauth.stanford.edu), online directory information (http://stanfordwho.stanford.edu), and person information retrieval for applications.


We also have plans to store our course information and overall organizational data in the directory as well.
