Re: NEWBIE question about setting up address books - mozilla and schemas

That was the answer. Thank You.

I changed the last part of the extension schema to:

# tail -10 abookextension.schema

objectClass     ( 1.3.6.1.4.1.4203.666.1.100
    NAME 'AbookExtension'
    DESC 'Additional Fields for Addressbooks'
    SUP inetOrgPerson
    STRUCTURAL
        MAY  ( personStatus $ preferredEmail $ mail2 $
               businessName $ xmozillanickname $
               birthdate $ c )
        )

Then modified test.ldif to:

$ more test.ldif
dn: cn=Test Guy,ou=addressbook,dc=example,dc=com
o: addressbook
objectClass: top
objectClass: person
objectClass: organizationalPerson
objectClass: inetOrgPerson
objectClass: AbookExtension
cn: Test Guy
givenname:  Test
sn:  Guy
mail:  testguy@aol.com
xmozillanickname: duh

Then:
ldapadd -f test.ldif -xv -h server -D
"dc=example,dc=com" -w secret

All went well - even "duh" showed up in the mozilla
addressbook. The simples things can screw you up if
you don't know what you're doing. Thanks. I should
have a plan for getting the rest of the fields filled
in.
