Are you sure your schema support this kind of filtering?

check out the admin guide, subsection 8.2.4 which explains the semantics
of schemas.

And which version of OpenLDAP server are you using?  There seems to be
some difference between a 2.0 and a 2.1 OpenLDAP server...
