Re: LDAP - account ID and passwords

I need some help doing this:
My slapd.conf is like this:

suffix "o=My Organization"
rootdn "cn=admin,o=My Organization"

I added an entry from an .ldif file with this info:
dn: cn=My Name 1,ou=My Unit,o=My Organization
cn: My Name
givenName: My Name
sn: Name
objectclass: inetOrgPerson
mail: webmaster@mydomain.com

Please help in specifying user accounts and passwords and writing access-lists. Thanks in advance.

Hello
Newbie question. I setup my LDAP server (on RHL 8) just to list email addresses for outlook. I want to restrict access to the server. Right now anyone can connect from outlook. How can I set up so that users must specify a account id and password to browse entries. Appreciate any help.

You have to specify useraccounts with passwords in LDAP and write access-lists for them in your slapd.conf
