help about allIDs threshold and tunning

hi all:

 

im trying to tuning my openldap system. i have readed about indexes, entry cache, db cache, log, etc...

 

but i dont understand well the allID entry. Anyone could help me? Moreover, in my system have server and

slaves: anyone have idea about the diferences of tuning a server and tuning a slave?
