alias dereferencing with ldap_compare ?

Hi Folks,
      what would be the expected behaviour of ldap_compare if the ldap
connection is configured for alias dereferencing always.

Should the attribute comparison be of the original object or of the
aliasedobjectname'd objects attributes?
