"LDAP * ld" in ldap_xxx_attribute

Hi

Could anyone explain WHY ldap_xxx_attribute()
[and many others] functions need an LDAP structure
parameter ?

i planned to implement an ldap_client() function
that would return entries, use it in a main()
function, and then in main() write entries' 
attributes,
but this doesn't seem right, as 
ldap_first/next_attribute()
seem to need info about the LDAP session...
