I would prefer that slaptest normally run with a valid/non-NULL backend 
so that a full database startup is attempted. Otherwise, it will not 
detect configuration problems such as a non-existent DB directory, etc. 
Also, the request in ITS#3716 would be well satisfied then. The dryrun 
switch could still be used to disable the database startup, in case you 
need to run slaptest on a live config file.
