it works, but now my doubt is: do the log lines containing slap_queue_csn and
slap_graduate_commit_csn mean that replication is on and that a slave is
syncing?

You will have one per commit as long as you have "sync" logging enabled in your loglevel.  If you don't want to see them, remove "sync" from your loglevel.
