Shouldn't this be done by the "mech_list" parameter in the SASLapplication config file (which is slapd.conf in your sasl directory)?

"By default, the Cyrus SASL library reads it's options from/usr/lib/sasl2/App.conf (where "App" is the application defined name ofthe application).
