Sure; odds are you probably won't need to write any code or even 
recompile. (What's a "big modification" anyway?)

You'd probably be best served by taking an example entry from your 
existing installation, and working with the FreeRADIUS docs/community to 
figure out the best architecture to integrate it. Once you have a plan, we 
can probably work with you on implementing the OpenLDAP side of the house, 
but I'm not sure if we can tell you how to configure a FreeRADIUS 
database.
