Here's a bigger extract; I didn't really want to clutter things up:

suffix          cn=log

directory       /var/tmp/slapd.accesslog
index           objectClass,reqStart    eq

# Play with "auditlog".
overlay         auditlog
auditlog        /var/tmp/slapd.auditlog

Are you confusing auditlog and accesslog? They are two entirely different things. I'm not sure they mix well, either...
