slapd(8) supports the LDAP subschema discovery mechanism
(RFC 4512, Section 4.4).   For information about this, as well
as general information about the LDAP/X.500 data models,
I suggest reading a good book on LDAP.  Some suggestions
are offered in the FAQ.
