I'm finishing up work on getting a new release of web500gw out that is compatible with modern OpenLDAP, and I need to decide whether to just set LDAP_DEPRECATED, or go through of the effort of excising the deprecated API usage. I'd rather not break compatibility of web500gw with comparatively recent versions (say, the last 4 years?) of OpenLDAP, if I could avoid it.
