Thanks, It works now, I have had a look at some of the instructions I have followed, it seems that this parameter is not mentioned on some or is a different one in others, and at present I can't find it in the OReilly book. I have now printed the FAQ from the OpenLdap site and found it mentioned there. Many thanks, Neil.
