slapd won't start with back_ldap...

I'm using Debian Woody/testing with the debpkg OpenLDAP 2.1.23. It has
been running fine with bdb, but I just added:
moduleload back_ldap
database ldap
..and now I get the following error when starting slapd -d -1:

Lots removed...

line 135 (modulepath /usr/lib/ldap)
line 136 (moduleload back_ldap)
loaded module back_ldap
module back_ldap: null module registered
line 138 (database ldap)
/usr/sbin/slapd: relocation error: /usr/lib/ldap/back_ldap.so: undefined
symbol: rewrite_info_init

Checking the conf.options shows that it was compiled with --enable-ldap and --enable-rewrite. Any ideas what could be the problem?

Thanks in advance!
