You might also want to look at the undocumented sendmail feature that
allows you to use LDAP as an alias map. This allows for sendmail to
queue mail if it doesn't get an answer from the directory service, and
means you don't have to use Sendmail's odd little LDAP schema.
pardon my ignorance but this is a topic that very much interests me. How
